Edward Elric - aka Ed
A child genius, Ed studied alchemy from a very young age. After the tragic loss of their mother Ed, along with his brother Al, ignored the principals of equivalent trade and attempted to raise their mother from the dead. The attempt failed leaving Edward missing a leg and Alphonse missing completely. In a desperate attempt to bring his brother back Ed sacrificed his arm, securing Al's soul to an empty suit of armour. Edward was ten years old. Alphonse was nine. Later, his missing limbs replaced by metal prosthetics, Ed would become known as the Fullmetal Alchemist.

Edward's younger brother. Tied to an empty suit of armour, unable to feel and often confused about the reality of his own existance, Al joins Ed on his quest to find the Philosopher's Stone, the only thing that can give them back what they have lost. Despite appearances, Al is often the calm voice of reason to Ed's hot headed temper and irrational bouts of rage.
